Trauma & Tension Release Programs

Soma Healing Journeys combine sequences of yoga, movement and breathwork, with the body’s natural, therapeutic shaking response, called Self Induced Therapeutic Tremors (SITT), for a revolutionary approach to trauma self-healing and stress reduction.

Each trauma skilled yoga therapy session guides you through a simple and gentle, yet profound practice that facilitates the lengthening and relaxation of the iliopsoas muscle group (along with other key areas of residual tension), and activates the body’s natural reflex mechanism, which can release layers of physical and emotional stress and tension through vibrating or shaking. All practices within the sessions can be adapted for any body, and no experience is necessary. The journeys can be done as stand alone, or as part of a wrap-around approach with other modalities or therapies.

Soma Healing Journeys draw on the practice of TRE® as well as my 15+ years creating & facilitating transformative trauma recovery experiences in a safe space, with the trauma skilled approach of Soma Yoga, and my own healing experience of 30+ years.

Group Soma Healing Journeys begin at 8 sessions in duration (with more recommended in some scenarios), and can help the body to activate its self-healing potential for gradually shifting symptoms of PTSD, CPTSD, chronic pain, chronic stress, traumatic experiences like childbirth, operation, injury, first response work, abuse or assault, anxiety, depression, grief, body or sexual shame, disassociation and many other conditions and experiences.

I am here to support people in their journey to shift and transform deeply, or recently lodged trauma patterns and tensions, that have been stored in the nervous system & tissue, so they can feel freer in the body, more regulated in the nervous system, and may dissolve blocks in all areas of their lives. Through the gradual and safe release of our defensive habits and residual tensions we can return to a natural state of resilience, peace, self connection, curiosity and joy.

What is TRE®

TRE® is an innovative series of exercises that assist the body in releasing deep muscular patterns of stress, tension and trauma. The exercises safely self-induce a natural reflex mechanism of shaking or vibrating that releases muscular tension, calming down the nervous system. When this muscular shaking/vibrating mechanism is activated in a safe and controlled environment, the body is encouraged to return back to a state of balance. Often vibration begins in the legs and may spread throughout the entire body.

TRE® is being taught in more than 60 countries around the world. It can be taught to individuals and groups, children and seniors. The method is taught by certified TRE® Providers and Trainers.

    1:1 Journeys:

  • Journeys are valid for a maximum of 8 months to allow for rescheduling when needed. Sessions should be booked at 1 - 2 week intervals.

  • 1:1 Journey cancellation requests made up to 24 hours prior to the first session’s booking, will be offered a full refund minus a 5% cancellation fee, or a reschedule.

  • Rescheduling is available for any session, up to 24 hours prior to the session.

  • Sessions cancelled within 24 hours of the booked time will be charged at full price.
